Student Agency refers to the values, opinions, beliefs, perspectives, and cultural backgrounds of individual students and groups of students in a school, and to instructional approaches and techniques that are based on student choices, interests, passions, and ambitions.

Student Agency allows students to share who they are, what they believe, and why they believe what they do with their peers, parents, teachers, and their entire school. Student Agency is for all of students in a district regardless of age or grade. Student Agency must be purposeful for it to be powerful.
